Since joining CarterBaldwin in 2016, Scott has led C-level searches for national and international nonprofits ranging from $10 million to over $1 billion in revenue. Blending his career experience in corporate and nonprofit, Scott is attuned to the competency, pace, and passion necessary to drive progress in organizations that are vigorously pursuing their mission.

Scott began his career in corporate real estate, traveling the East Coast to acquire data center facilities for Fortune 500 telecommunications clients. These were complex transactions for build-to-suit and leased properties that are part of the Internet’s infrastructure today.

Active as a volunteer at North Point Community Church in Atlanta, the fastest-growing church in America at the time, Scott was recruited (to his surprise!) to join the staff and help bring strategy and framework to their growth. As Strategic Partnership Director, Scott helped determine where to plant churches across the US and Canada and coached lead pastors as they built their leadership teams and operations. After ten years at North Point, Scott spent the next five years founding and leading two technology and social enterprise startups before joining CarterBaldwin. In 2024, Scott accepted the invitation to join former client Restore NYC’s board of directors.

Scott is a “military brat” who lived in the former West Germany and has visited 22 countries (so far!). He was a double major in Political Science and Economics at Mississippi State University and then received a Master’s in Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Scott and his wife, Jennifer, have two boys, a cat, and a bearded dragon living under their roof. If they’re not buying pet food or at one of their boys’ school commitments, they enjoy walks at the park, travel, and a good fire pit conversation.
